How Do you Bounce Back from a Global Reset?
2020 will go down as the 'year of reset'. How should founders and creators respond?
No doubt we've all been impacted by the shifts and changes in the world recently. From COVID related health problems, racial inequality, business disruption and relational strains as a result of social distancing, it would be fair to begin using the term B.C (Before-COVID) and P.C (Post-COVID) to define how things once were vs how things are now.
It’s been nothing short of a global reset. How do we look up to discuss changing the world when we are barely staying afloat ourselves? how can we muster the strength to think about cultural transformation when our personal lives feel undone? Launch something? let’s not even get started. The answer is Community. Community is fellowship. Community is spending time with someone, some people, other than ourselves. We need fellowship with Jesus primarily but this must also spill over into the systems he has put in place; our networks, friends, partners, collaborators, brothers and sisters, who are banging on the same drum. Community that is positively different and diverse but family nonetheless. We need community because community (re)kindles fire and a love for people, their passions, problems and needs and reminds us why we decided to do what we do.
We can’t just be for community, we must be community builders.
We believe 'community' will become a defining theme over the next decade (more on this in a future newsletter). This is transforming how GOODFRUIT seeks to continually serve, create value and connect founders and creators navigating faith and new paths of culture creation.
"The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members." – Coretta Scott King
